Artist Postmortem


As the artist on the team, I was tasted with making the game look good. I found the textures for the castle dungeon as well as the made the tile icons for the actual game part of the game. I was also tasked with finding the ambience for the game. I found models for the general set up as well as the prop that is used to interact with the game's function.

I had 21 hours of projected work on my kanban board, but I did less work on the larger projects like the tile art, but more time on learning the new styles for the getting the menus to look somewhat unique.  

A minor set-back for me on terms of looks was getting the wand to appear in the player's hand. I go the model to appear in game and respace the default gun models that would appear, but it would always be off screen and the animation set was still as though the character had a gun. 

The thing I learned most during this assignment was that UI design is a little trick. I was still stuck on getting the nine slices to function. 

I am most proud of getting the wand to replace the gun and for the UI to look somewhat decent. Learning to upload a font and work with it so that it matches the vision was for sure something that I really enjoyed the outcome of.
